Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind. ~ Yoga Sutra 1.2
Do you want to reduce your stress level? Do you think you are not flexible or too old, etc. to try yoga? Let me tell you that yoga is for everyone and everyone can benefit greatly from it at any level, age and gender. Contrary to the misconception, you don’t have to be flexible to practice yoga. You do get more flexible and build strength both physically and mentally. Consistent regular practice often leads to self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-love. Focusing on the breath help to connect the mind and body and keeps you in the present moment, which calms the mind. That is the ultimate goal of yoga – to still the fluctuations of the mind.
There are various styles of yoga suited for different needs at each moment. Below are the styles of yoga that I offer. Click on the style name for the descriptions.
Also known as yogic sleep, this deeply healing, relaxing and transformative guided meditation is helpful with insomnia, anxiety, ptsd or lack of sleep in general. 1hr session is equivalent to 4hrs of sleep.
Deep stretch in stillness are held for 3-5 minutes with ease. Works at the deeper layers of the body: connective tissue, ligaments, joints and fascia. Each poses opens various meridian points for chi to flow through more easily. The flexibility you’ll gain in both the body and the mind makes it a perfect complement to the active yang classes. The yin approach also helps to lubricate the joints and tune inward to hear the whispers of your inner wisdom. It can be meditative and certainly prepares you for meditation.
Yoga poses are sequenced in a flowing manner synced with the breath at a slower pace bringing with gentler poses and transitions. Still very effective in building strength, flexibility, release stress and tension in a more mindful way. Great for seniors as well as anyone looking to bring movement and create space gently.
Yoga sequences are designed specifically to make it safe and beneficial during pregnancy, helping to gracefully adjust to the changing body, connect with the unborn baby and prepare for birth.
Specific yoga poses are held for 5-10 minutes supported by props for ultimate relaxation. Deeply healing, recharging and rejuvenating. Also boosts the immune, adrenal, circulatory and lymphatic system and optimize organ functions greatly.
Yoga poses are modified for practicing on a chair. Perfect for a corporate setting or for seniors. It’s beginner friendly but still very effective at releasing tension and stress. Don’t let the chair fool ya. You’ll still get great strength building and gain flexibility.
